Our Story

Built by Builders.
Not by Committee.

NebusAI wasn't born in a boardroom. It was forged over two decades of building, breaking, and rebuilding enterprise systems — from server rooms to global cloud platforms, from the engine rooms of a Navy warship to the architecture reviews of Fortune 500 consulting engagements.

Springfield, MA · Late 1990s – 2000s

Code Before the Diploma

Scott W. Houghton taught himself to program at eleven years old growing up in western Massachusetts. By thirteen — a freshman in high school — he had broken into the school's computer system. The consequences were swift: expulsion, a year at a military academy, then homeschooling. But the same instinct that got him into trouble also drove him to build. That same year he launched his own small IT consulting business, taking on clients as a teenager in the Springfield area.

Running a consulting firm at thirteen proved difficult for obvious reasons. He closed the business and took his first professional position at a local IT consulting firm at seventeen. By eighteen he had moved to a new role designing Microsoft RMS and POS solutions alongside custom application development — his first real exposure to the intersection of business operations software and the systems that power them.

Service and the Engine Room

In 2009, Scott left the IT industry to enlist in the United States Navy. After boot camp and EngineMan "A" School at Naval Station Great Lakes, he was stationed at Norfolk, Virginia and deployed to the Middle East and Africa aboard the USS Ashland (LSD-48).

The Navy shaped his approach to systems thinking — engineering under pressure, maintaining complex machinery where failure isn't an option, and operating within the disciplined frameworks that keep a warship running. He returned to Virginia Beach after deployment and was medically separated in 2013 following an injury sustained during service.

Raleigh, NC · 2014 – Onward

Back to the Command Line

In 2014, Scott relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina to re-enter the technology industry. He started as a systems administrator and advanced into DevOps engineering at a transportation SaaS company — his first deep exposure to cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and the operational demands of running production software at scale.

That role opened the door to over a decade of enterprise consulting and cloud architecture work. Over the years that followed, Scott built a career spanning multi-cloud DevSecOps, platform engineering, and AI architecture across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Cloudflare, and VMware. He moved fluidly between major consulting firms and professional services organizations — often returning to prior engagements as needs evolved. His work spanned regulated industries including healthcare, financial services, and federal government — designing, securing, and operating the kinds of large-scale cloud platforms that most developers never see behind the curtain.

Tampa, FL · 2025 – Present

The Platform That Should Already Exist

Throughout his career, Scott worked on various ideas and early iterations of what would become Olympus Cloud — a conviction that the enterprise-grade infrastructure he spent twenty years building for large organizations should be accessible to every developer and every business, not just the ones with seven-figure cloud budgets and dedicated platform teams.

After relocating to Tampa in 2025, he founded NebusAI to make that vision real. Olympus Cloud is the culmination of everything he learned — building and operating platforms at consulting firms, at startups, at cloud providers — distilled into a single, AI-native platform-as-a-service that handles auth, payments, compliance, multi-provider AI, edge compute, and multi-tenant data isolation out of the box. One platform. Everything a builder needs to ship production software.

"I spent twenty years building platforms for other people's companies. NebusAI is the platform I wish existed every time I started from scratch."
— Scott W. Houghton, Founder & CEO

Scott W. Houghton

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Scott is a U.S. Navy veteran, self-taught engineer, and enterprise cloud architect with over twenty years of experience designing, securing, and operating large-scale platforms. His career spans multi-cloud DevSecOps and platform engineering across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Cloudflare, and VMware — with consulting engagements through major firms serving regulated industries including healthcare, financial services, and federal government.

Before founding NebusAI, Scott served as a Principal Multi-Cloud DevSecOps Engineer and Architect, working with enterprise clients on cloud-native transformations, zero-trust security implementations, and AI infrastructure design. He brings direct experience from professional services organizations at Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft, as well as the consulting firms that advise Fortune 500 companies on platform strategy.

Scott founded NebusAI with a simple conviction: the infrastructure that powers the world's largest companies should be accessible to every developer and every business. Olympus Cloud is his answer — a single platform that eliminates the complexity of stitching together auth, payments, AI, compliance, and infrastructure so builders can focus on what makes their product unique.
